Biography
Joamin Gonzalez-Gutierrez obtained his B.Sc. in Biosystems Engineering from the University of Manitoba, Canada, his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and Material Science from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium and his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. After his PhD defence, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Montanuniversität Leoben (MUL), where he successfully developed polymer-based materials for additive manufacturing at the Institute for Polymer Processing in the Department for Polymer Engineering and Science. He obtained the title of Privatdozent on Advanced Processing of Thermoplastic-based Particulate Composites at MUL. He has participated in numerous international research projects for polymer-based material development, processing and characterisation, co-authored 42 peer-review scientific papers and 6 book chapters in material science and engineering, co-edited the book A Guide to Additive Manufacturing and is part of the editorial board of the journal Progress in Additive Manufacturing. Currently, he is a Research and Technology Associate at the Luxembourg of Science and Technology (LIST), where he continues his work on developing sustainable, responsive polymeric materials for additive manufacturing.
